INTRO.

You wake up feeling like you’ve had a rough night’s sleep… maybe a bit jet-lagged, if you’re familiar with the feeling, or perhaps like you, uh, had a little too much to drink last night. Either way, you’re probably not expecting to wake up in a forest clearing, so that might be even more disorienting. It’s not an unpleasant place to wake up, mind. It’s sunny, and there’s a pleasantly cool breeze blowing through. The grass isn’t tall enough that you could get lost in it or that someone could be hiding in it… or something.

There are, in fact, a lot of somethings surrounding you--a veritable menagerie of creatures, some of them adorable, and some of them intimidating… but they seem to be as disoriented as you are. And then, well… you realize something’s a little off about yourself. There’s no pond to look at your new appearance, but… maybe the ground’s a little closer. Maybe you don’t actually have arms and legs at the moment. Maybe you don’t have eyes anymore?

Regardless, something’s definitely up. Fortunately, there’s a path leading out of the clearing, so once you get your bearings and speak with some of the other weird critters you’ve woken up with, you can find… somewhere you can get answers. Well, hopefully, anyway.

[Thankfully for her Hakai isn't used to being a quadruped, and there he is just sitting there with his forelegs crossed leaving his midsection exposed. There's a weird mix of an "oof" and a..."buru" ..."buroof?" as he finds himself pushed off his rock.

That's fine, that's cool, he's already flipping himself back onto his legs.]

Oh, I like you! You're clearly a warrior.

[And a warrior has to work with what they got. No fists, but...if he's some kind of dog, then he does have teeth. Hakai hustles to the other side of the rock and goes to bite her tail, trying to pull her off. No way is he giving her the high ground.]

[fuhuhuhuhu]

[She lets out another triumphant laugh.]

I've trained for years, there's no way you're gonna get the best of me!

[...Unfortunately, none of her training involved her having a tail. She lets out a sharp squawk as she gets pulled down by Hakai, her claws scrabbling against the rock's surface. Dammit. Gritting her teeth, she digs her claws in before turning and going to kick him right on the snout.]

TAKE THAT!

[Ow, his snout. But he's not giving up easily, he's definitely been hit by worse. Just gotta hang on...]

Oh? You say that like I haven't. Tell me, how many years have you trained?

[..........It's only now he realizes that talking has made him lose the grip he's had on her tail.]

[fuhuhuhuhu]

YEARS!

[She's not gonna tell him that, in case he actually ended up training longer than her...but this is her chance! She slips down from her position and ducks down on all fours. If this dude's gonna fight dirty, and if she doesn't have access to her spears....

With a loud yell, she chomps down on Hakai's forepaw. Hard.]

[See, if that were his normal arm, no one would even consider chomping down on it! Nor would it probably hurt as much. Ridiculous!]

AUGGHH!! Stupid, weak, body!!

[His free forepaw goes smashing down on her head, just doing anything he can to get her to let go.]

[fuhuhuhuhu]

[Aghh--that's basically the equivalent of someone stomping on your head! She lets out a yell, letting go of Hakai's leg and stumbling backwards as she rubs her head. She glares at the dog for a few seconds, then crosses her arms and lets out a huff, grinning.]

I like the way you fight, kid. [Hakai is...actually probably older than her because of Yokai stuff but it's fine] Maybe one day, you'll be good enough to study under me!

[Because all these monsters are just from the Underground, right? Never mind the fact that she's never seen them in her life before.]

[Yeah, uh, that one catches him off guard, no one's ever called him a kid before. He's literally over 400 years old--

Oh right. Puppy body.]

Wha-- Wait, what are you implying?! Your strength is incredible, you really wouldn't let me study right now?!

[That's not even fair.]

Hmmmmmm!

[Undyne takes a step back, evaluating the pup. She makes a heh sound, placing her hand under her chin like in the anime she and Alphys used to watch. It makes the humans look cool, so she obviously looks cool doing this.]

Well, if you're that eager to know what it takes to be the best of the best...I can probably arrange something.

[She glances sidelong at Hakai, grinning widely.] You wanna punch the shit out of the monsters that did this to us, yes?

[Oh shit, oh fuck, she looks really cool. How the hell did she do that? Hakai starts to calm his tone once again, you know, so he can try to look just as cool.]

Only a fool wouldn't wish complete and total destruction on the one who placed us here.

[fuhuhuhuhu]

That's exactly what I hoped you'd say.

[She grins widely, cocking her head to the side and placing a hand on Hakai's...shoulder? General shoulder area.]

The people responsible may be able to stand up to either one of us alone, but together? Our fighting spirit and determination would be unstoppable.

...And you'd get to learn all sorts of sweet fighting tricks from me. What do you say?

[Hakai's eyes shift over to her tiny 'dile that's now resting on his questionable shoulder and immediately tries to shrug it off. He may be a dog now, but he's still not a very...touchy person.

Once his personal space is how he likes it, he starts shouting again.]

BuurrrRRaaaHHHH!! I would love nothing more!!

[And once again, followed by instant calmness.]

As a warrior, it is my duty to study other people's fighting techniques in order to improve my own. What better way to test what I learn than on those who think they can contain me.

[fuhuhuhuhu]

[She punches her hand with her own fist, her eyes practically glinting with Fight Energy™. Better get used to it, Hakai. Undyne is "touchy feely" in the way that she likes punching people that she likes. But he's probably fine with that, right?]

Excellent! [She holds up a fist.] First--an evaluation of your strength! Show me what you can do to that tree over there! Try to knock it over, split it in half--whatever!

[She tried chomping down a few trees earlier, let's see if this guy can do any worse!]

[He'll take hitting over these weirder, nonviolent gestures. At least he understands that.]

A simple task.

[Pupkai marches towards the tree in question, entering a battle position once he's in range. This should be easy enough, he's destroyed many trees in the past. Taking in a deep breath, he gives out his battle cry once more.]

BuuuurrrRRRRRAAaaahhHHH!!

[But as he opens his mouth, small embers burst from it, scorching the tree in the process. It doesn't ignite it, but it definitely burns it.

Hakai can only stand there, baffled.]

Ah.

I definitely couldn't do that before.

[fuhuhuhuhu]

WOAH!

[Undyne jumps back at the flames, clearly startled. She stares intensely at the scorch marks for a few moments. Holy shit. The only other monsters she knows who have fire powers are Toriel and Asgore....

Her eyes shining with excitement, she turns to look at Hakai, her hands clenched into fists.]

That. Is. AWESOME!!! You can definitely burn up a few people with that! Wait, wait, let me see if I can do anything like that —

[She closes her eyes and focuses her energy, much like she would if she were summoning a spear. All monsters have some form of magic within their SOUL, so surely this body is no different. She just has to find out what kind of magic it is....]

NGAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

[And with a shout, she unleashes a torrent of water from her mouth, though...it doesn't seem to be aimed particularly well. Watch out, Hakai!]

[Hakai doesn't think to move, from what he can tell it's just water.

So when the water hits him and it hurts like hell, his eyes grow wide and he gets...visibly excited.]

Astounding! And you, it appears you can launch acid!

[He stands there drenched, his body stinging from the "acid," his foreleg still badly injured from her bite from earlier. He's having a good time.]

[fuhuhuhuhu]

[Her eyes widen--it looked liked normal water to her, but if it's water that hurts...]

Really?! That's AWESOME!

[Hell, that's even better than having her spears! She puffs out her chest and laughs.]

Ohhhhh, they're gonna regret the day they gave Undyne and Hakai these bodies! [She grimaces.] Ugh--that takes way too long to say. We need a cool team name that really strikes fear into our enemies hearts!

Kaima.

[He's...biased.]

[She strikes a really "cool" pose as imitated from one of the animes she's watched. This is how you earn the respect of other people, right? Being cool and punching them?]

YEAH!!! That sounds wicked cool! Like something out of anime! THE KAIMA CREW!!!

[It's absolutely how you earn respect, especially in the world of kaima- wait a second.]

Alliteration is not intimidating!!

IT IS INTIMIDATING IF YOU PUNCH PEOPLE WHILE SAYING IT!

[As if to make her point, she goes to punch Hakai right in the chest.]

YOU DIDN'T EVEN SAY IT THAT TIME!!

[And he punches back, although it's more like a rough shove.]

[fuhuhuhuhu]

[Oh, is it punching time again? It's punching time! She lets out a roar:]

KAIMA CREWWWWWWWW!

[And Undyne charges straight at Hakai, intending to headbutt him over.]

[There we go, there's something he can do. There is no moving out of the way, only charging back. The only good thing this puppy form seems to have going for it is the skull and bones it adorns itself with, great for headbutts.]

BUUUURRRRUUUAAAAAHHHHH!!!

[Hakai can't bring himself to call it the Kaima Crew, his mom would kill him. But at the same time, he won't stop her from wanting in on their cool kids club. After their defeat, they have to bring back the name somehow.]

[There's a deafening crack as the two knuckleheads make contact. Undyne lets out a sharp growl--her head hurts like hell right now, but she's not about to show any sort of weakness towards her opponent...fr...friend...frienemy. She lets out another roar to assert her dominance in the situation.]

DO YOUR WORST!!!

[Apparently, one of the things this body is good at is biting things. A dastardly grin flashes across her face as she gets an idea. She opens her mouth and immediately goes to chomp down right on the pup's nose.]

[Not wanting another wound on this pathetic body so soon, Hakai decides he will do his worst. That's the kaima way after all. If she wants to roll with the kaima crew, she'll just have to get used to it.

He opens his maw and fires more embers, this time at her open jaws. Leave his nose alone, you monster!]
